5 Easy Ways to Give your Home a Makeover This Fall

5 Easy Ways to Give your Home a Makeover This Fall

Where has the time gone?  Things are moving fast and furious now as we get closer to the holidays. Summer has already faded away & Fall is here! There is something about fall that gets a lot of us excited. Fall is almost synonymous to parties, guests and family gatherings. I am definitely in the mood for the cooler nights and some Seasonal decorating! There’s no time like the fall to bring the colors of the season into your home, bright autumn colors and pumpkins and even more pumpkins! Bring in the look and feel of the outdoors with these  relatively simple ideas to bring the autumn feel indoors:

1. Dress your front door with a Fall wreath

A fall wreath allows you to greet guests with the sights of the season before they even step into your house. A splash of fall color to your front door will instantly brighten the mood. Take a step outside and allow nature to inspire your autumn wreath arrangement.   Use the beautiful colors of fall leaves, pumpkins, dried stalks of corn or wheat to decorate your wreath. You can also make use of faux leaves and berries if you want to re-use your wreath for the coming years. If you aren’t into DIY’s, a store-bought wreath is just as good.

2. Decorate your porch for the season

Who wants a plain entry front porch? As much as possible, I don’t. Whether you go all out and decorate your front porch for fall, or just put out a few pumpkins and call it good, be sure to create a warm welcome. As simple as adding a planter at the front door and filling it with some greenery & autumn plants, make a big difference. Add some plantings or pumpkins to line your walkway or the front of your house. Lastly, if you like, you can “sprinkle” dried leaves to add to your decorations,  just don’t forget not to sweep up those dried leaves when you do the cleaning.

3. Bring in fresh flowers

Nothing brightens up your home for the season like vases filled with fall blooms. Sunflowers look so bright & are great choices because they’ll remain beautiful for up to a week. The trick to keeping blooms fresh is to remove all leaves below the water line and change out the water every few days.

4. Make some pumpkin floral balls

Here’s a clever way to make use of pumpkins. Simply carve a hole in a pumpkin and fill up with your favorite fall blooms or create this beautiful floral display using yellow and orange mums. Cut the heads from the flowers and hot-glue them all over the pumpkins or poke little holes & put in your flowers inside them. Display on tabletops or make it table centerpieces. Beautiful floral ball!

5. Give your fireplace a makeover

Give your fireplace a quick makeover by simply displaying photo or paintings of fall. Add height to your display using tall vases with fall inspired decorations or fall blooms. Make a pennant garland like the one in the photo, it would look fun and festive hanging on your fireplace & add candles for that cozy, homey feel.
