Port Credit BUSKERFEST 2012

August brings the festival for the kid in all of us – Port Credit’s Buskerfest. What is a busker you ask? Well, simply put, it’s a gutsy street performer. From comedians to contortionists to magicians and mimes, from sword-swallowers and human statues to jugglers, escape artists and acrobats. The best part of this three-day event, which is held from August 17-19, is that it allows you to explore the beauty of Port Credit while being entertained. It features eight stages that start from Memorial Park and go all the way to Hurontario. There is even a Busker Academy located in the park that teaches guests how to become street performers. Through free workshops, you can learn how to juggle, twist a balloon, learn some simple magic tricks or how to walk on stilts. To cap off the event, all the performers come together for an incredible Xtreme Finale that will support local charities. That means that the event is free, though donations are greatly appreciated as they help the local charities involved.
